The importance, perception and value of British design was the subject of a seminar, organised with the Design Guild Mark, as part of exhibition 100% Design’s Talks programme last month.

Jonathan Hindle, founder of the Design Guild Mark and group managing director EMEA of KI Europe, chaired a lively discussion, titled British design: who rates it, on Wednesday 18 September from 3:15pm – 4.00pm.

He was joined by a panel of prominent members of the design community who debated questions including ‘How much does marketing have to do with the success of British design?’ and ‘Why does the fashion industry get so much more recognition?’.

The panellists included Helen Berresford, head of ID:SR; Mark Gabbertas, founder of Gabbertas Studio; and Tom Lloyd, co-founder and director of PearsonLloyd.

100% Design took place from 18 – 21 September at Olympia London.

A video of the discussion is available to view.
