John Hampden to build innovation hub
John Hampden, a grammar school in High Wycombe that receives aid as part of The Furniture Makers’ Company’s Supported Schools initiative, has announced that it has been successful in its application to the Selective Schools Expansion Fund.
It is intended that the money will be invested in a new building to provide modern learning facilities to equip students with the skills and knowledge to make a positive contribution to both the local and global economy.
The funds will also be used to establish partnerships with local primary schools to work with them to raise attainment and achievement.
Head teacher Tracey Hartley, said: “I want to thank the staff and Governors who worked on the bid and parents and members of the local community who wrote so many letters of support for the bid.”
“We are looking forward to working with our partner primary schools to help their young people achieve their very best. The money we will receive is more than an investment in John Hampden Grammar School; it is an investment in Wycombe.”
