Past Master receives BCFA Lifetime Achievement Award
Past Master and Southern region fundraising chairman Peter Keen has been awarded the Panaz BCFA Lifetime Achievement award.
Peter, who is chairman of corporate member Hypnos, is the longest continuous member of the British Contract Furnishing Association (BCFA).
The award recognises those that have made a contribution to the contract furnishing industry and their companies.
The award was presented to Peter at the Dorchester.
Peter’s first chairman role came early on when studying furniture production – he was chairman of the student union.
Peter was chairman of the BCFA from 1990 to 1999, along with president on the Windsor Royal Warrant Holders Association.
The prominent bed business was inherited by Peter from his father. At the time it was a chair manufacturer and a separate bed manufacturer. Peter took the decision to focus his business on beds, which as it turned out, was a very successful decision and the business currently has staff numbers of 600.
The bed manufacturer is also the main supplier of John Lewis and provides beds for hotel chain Premier Inn. As well as this, they are also holders of the HMQ Royal Warrant.
The company is now worth £70 million.
Their latest projects include a bed recycling business and a delivery service, called Keen & Able.
