Three people were admitted to The Furniture Makers’ Company in a ceremony on Thursday 4 October during our Court Meeting at Furniture Makers’ Hall.

The liveryman, honorary liveryman and honorary freeman that were admitted were:

Honorary freeman: Lt Col Neil Bellamy

Lt Colonel Neil Bellamay is the former commanding officer of the 2nd Battalion The Rifles. He led in the development of bonds between the Rifles and the Company. He has made a great effort to attend many livery events or send representatives on his behalf where appropriate. During his tenure, a member of the livery’s office staff completed an adventurous training exercise in Pakistan and three Masters were hosted at Theipval Barracks in Northern Ireland. His efforts have really cemented this key relationship and provided a very strong platform for maintaining these links in the future.

Honorary liveryman: Sir Geoffrey Leigh

Sir Geoffrey Leigh established Sterling Furniture and Allied London Properties where he was managing director and later chairman. He has been involved in extensive charitable work with The Leigh Academic Trust, which has grown from its inception in 1973 to having 18 Academies, with more on there way. Sir Geoffrey also played a crucial role in securing 12 Austin Friars for The Furniture Makers’ Company.

Liveryman: Stephanie Reeves

Stephanie Reeves is director of UK Government Relations at Red Bull UK. She is also involved with her family business, independent furniture retailer House of Reeves. Stephanie has attended a number of events since joining the Company and is a member of the membership committee.
