Success at Curry Night Fundraiser
An annual curry night hosted by Dewsbury-based The Shire Bed Company in aid of The Furniture Makers’ Company (FMC), has raised more than £4,100.
The event saw more than 100 people, including industry colleagues, friends and family attend the three course meal at the Aakash restaurant – Britain’s biggest curry house – in Cleckheaton.
Guest speakers included Baroness Sayeeda Warsi, Mark Arthur, the Yorkshire County Cricket Club (YCCC) chief executive, Leeds Rhinos commercial director Rob Oates and Dr Tony Smart MBE, master of the FMC 2017-18.
Fara Butt, marketing director at The Shire Bed Company, and chairman of the charity’s Yorkshire and Central region said: “We are delighted with the success of our annual curry evening, it was a terrific night. It’s a great way to help raise money for our industry’s charity and I’d like to say a big thank you to everyone who supported us – see you again next year!”
