Liveryman honoured with MBE
We would like to congratulate Furniture Makers liveryman Colin Mustoe for being awarded an MBE for services to manufacturing and charity in North West England in the Queen’s Birthday Honours.
Colin, founder of office furniture manufacturer The Senator Group, began designing and manufacturing office furniture in 1977. Today the company has grown to one of the largest office furniture manufacturers in the world, but it still remains an independent, family owned business.
As an enthusiastic advocate of young people entering the manufacturing industry, Colin is a regular supporter of local colleges and events to encourage the entrepreneurs of the future. The Senator Group is also a corporate member of The Furniture Makers’ Company.
Twice a year, the Queen gives out honours: once on New Year’s Day and then on her official birthday. The awards recognise people who have made achievements in public life or committed themselves to serving and helping Britain.
Colin Mustoe MBE, chairman of The Senator Group, said: “I’m very happy and very proud to get the award. I think it’s a reflection of the work of all our 1,400 employees working for the company.”
