The Furniture Makers’ Company Southern Committee had an enjoyable visit to the Ercol factory in Princes Risborough, Buckinghamshire last week.

Around 10 people attended the committee’s trip on Thursday 15 June, including chairman Peter Keen, president Mike Clare and senior warden Hayden Davies.

Edward Tadros, Ercol chairman and vice chairman of the Southern committee, personally guided the group around the facility.

Ercol’s 160,000 sq ft factory opened in 2002 and is situated in the heart of the traditional Chiltern’s furniture-making area.

The stunning facility has won a number of awards for its architectural design and its environmental features.

Peter Keen said: “On behalf of the Southern Committee and The Furniture Makers’ Company, I want to thank the team at Ercol for the fascinating tour around their wonderful factory, which represents the best in British manufacturing. This is one of many trips that we have planned to raise vital funds for our charity as well as host networking events for local members of the furnishing industry.”

The Furniture Makers’ Company has five regional committees – the North East, North West, Yorkshire and Central, South West and Southern.

Each committee aims to organise a number of fundraising and networking events in their area for members and non-members of The Furniture Makers Company.
