A mouth-watering curry was on the menu for The Furniture Makers’ Company’s Yorkshire and Central region fundraising event.

Following last year’s success the curry night was held at the famous Aakash restaurant in West Yorkshire, raising over £2,000 for the industry’s charity.

More than 80 people, including industry colleagues, friends and family attended the drinks reception followed by a three course meal at Britain’s biggest Indian restaurant.

Guest speakers included Tracy Brabin the Labour Co-operative MP for Batley and Spen, Paula Sherriff MP for Dewsbury, Mirfield, Denby Dale and Kirkburton and Baroness Sayeeda Warsi.

Fara Butt, marketing director at the Shire Bed Company, and chairman of the region said:  “On behalf of the Yorkshire and Central region committee and The Furniture Makers’ Company, I want to thank everyone who attended and made this event a tremendous success.

“This is one of many events that we have planned for the future to support our industry’s charity.”
