Lord Mayor to abseil Cheese Grater building for charity
The Lord Mayor of London Dr Andrew Parmley is putting his fear of heights to one side to abseil down London’s 225 metre Leadenhall building, known as the Cheese Grater, on the 8 September to raise funds for his Lord Mayor’s Appeal
This year’s appeal is raising money for LSO Discovery programme, St Paul’s Music Outreach and Music in Hospitals, educating young people, using music to develop the skills and talents that young people need to succeed in 21st century Britain.
The Lord Mayor is kindly asking for freemen and liverymen to sponsor him £10 to support him reach his target of £15,000.
Ben Burbidge, Master of The Furniture Makers’ Company, said: “On behalf of the Company, I would like to wish the Lord Mayor luck in his abseil which is in aid of a very worthy cause.”
