It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of one of our liverymen, Victoria Eva Tadros.

Vicky died on Sunday 2 April 2017 peacefully at the Churchill Hospital in Oxford from pneumonia brought on by complications due to her diabetes and kidney failure.

Vicky originally studied Ceramics at West Surrey College of Art and Design at Farnham.  After running her own knitwear company and then working as export manager at Sue Stowell Wallpapers and Fabrics, Vicky moved to Milan where she handled imports of British wallpapers and textiles for a company called English Home Design.  Following a stint at Colefax and Fowler she joined Ercol in 1994 where she was responsible for selecting upholstery fabrics, arranging showroom displays and overseeing catalogues, brochures and other graphics.  She was the sixth member of our family to become a Liveryman of the Worshipful Company in 2005. She served on several committees.

Vicky’s great love was her close and wider family.  She adored her nephews and niece, William, Henry and Bea, and more recently her great nephews, Arthur, Harry and Teo.  Bea and Vicky were particularly close in their enthusiasm for all things to do with craft and art. Vicky had a long-standing love of Italy, its culture, history, and wines, and spoke Italian fluently. Well enough to swear violently at Venetian taxi drivers!!  She had really inherited the Ercolani temper!

She much loved her home and garden where her cats ruled and she frequently entertained family and friends in great style.

Vicky will be greatly missed but well remembered for the happiness she spread amongst many.

Vicky’s funeral will be held at the Oxford Crematorium at 3.00pm on Friday 28 of April. Following the ceremony, a celebration of Vicky’s life will be held at Ercol in Princes Risborough.

The Tadros family have kindly requested that no flowers be given. Instead if anyone wishes to make a donation to Diabetes UK or Kidney Research UK  they would be gratefully received.  The funeral directors, Chadwick’s of Wallingford, can organise this.
