Welcome to our new assistants

We are delighted to welcome three new assistants and one new corporate assistant to The Furniture Makers’ Company’s court.

The new court assistants are Joanna Knight, director at Really Very Nice Furniture; Vince Linnane, director at Chimera Insurance; and Gary Smith, director of Tusler Studio.

Donna Bellingham, commercial director at corporate member Parker Knoll, has been appointed as a corporate assistant.

The court is the decision making function of the Company, effectively its board.  It is chaired by the Master of the Company and meets four times a year.

Court assistants are elected for a six year period at the end of which they can be considered for a second six year period.

If assistants commit to a second period they are also confirming that they intend to stand for election to become third assistant – the route to becoming Master – at some stage during those six years.
