Swimathon team raises £1,500
The Furniture Makers’ Company’s Inter-Livery Swimathon team successfully completed their charity swim last week, raising more than £1,500 for charity.
The annual fundraiser, which is organised by the Chartered Surveyors’ Company, was held at the RAC Epsom on Thursday 2 March 2017. Nine livery companies took part in the swimathon.
Captained by liveryman Lizzie Shaw of Celtheath Contract Furniture, the Furniture Makers’ team included Carol Carter, membership manager Paddy Rafferty, marketing assistant Francesca Rossi, corporate liveryman Graham Jones and liveryman David Woodward.
The team swam a total of 5,000m in two hours and then sat down to convivial dinner which was hosted by the Company of Chartered Surveyors.
Ben Burbidge, Master of The Furniture Makers’ Company, said: “Congratulations to our team of swimmers for not only completing the challenge in a great time, but also raising a fantastic amount of money. Thank you to everyone who has supported the team – your donations will help The Furniture Makers’ Company continue to educate for the future, inspire excellence and support those in need.”
