The British Furniture Manufacturers association (BFM)  is hosting a knowledge sharing event on 4 August to discuss outcomes of the Working Tri21* project.

The project, which started in September 2014, set out to enhance the social inclusion of people with from disabilities – primarily those with Down’s syndrome (Trisomy 21) – by integrating them into the job market. The BFM was part of an international consortium which came together for the study. The project is now drawing to a conclusion with courses being developed and a pilot course underway.

Jackie Bazeley, md of BFM, said: “The study has been important to understanding how the furniture industry can embrace and train less able individuals to work within the sector in a way that is mutually beneficial.”

The event will take place on 4 August  at The Saunderton Suite, The Clare Centre, Saunderton, Bucks, HP14 4BF from 2pm to 5pm.
