This year for the first time the Hampshire Wood Fair is being introduced to the South Downs Show, now in its second year.

Wood is one of the most exciting raw materials we have and many different aspects of its use will be on display at the fair.Visitors will have the chance to see crafts, machinery, axe men, coppice workers, information about managing a woodland, grants, and so much more, plus you can have a go at some of the crafts and see how to create interesting items from wood. There will be five main themes to the Wood Fair

  • Logs – how to buy good quality logs
  • Biomass – from tree to heat
  • Building with wood – a traditional building material in a modern world
  • Coppice and heritage crafts – tradition is our backbone
  • Managing woodland – why is it important to manage a woodland?

The South Downs Show takes place on 15-16 August, at the Queen Elizabeth Country Park, near Petersfield, Hampshire.
